Nelson E Hopkins, Jr. Scholarship Fund

About Nelson E. Hopkins, Jr.

Nelson Hopkins Jr. was a young man that lived in the Kansas City, MO community. He was extremely intelligent, with hopes for a bright future. This fall he would have been a Freshmen in college.  However, on December 1st, 2009, this dream was tragically ended as Nelson fell victim to a drive by shooting, resulting in his death.

Shortly after the death of Nelson, a scholarship fund was started in his name. The scholarship will first fund the educational costs of all of Nelson E. Hopkins Jr.'s siblings.  Any additional funds will provide annual scholarships to students at the Alta Vista Charter School in Kansas City, Mo.
